GPEG2 video codec is a video compressor / decompressor that registers into the Windows® multimedia drivers and integrates with any application using DirectShow (Virtual Dub, Adobe Premiere, etc). Existing video players, such as Windows® Media Player® , Media Player Classic can use this codec to play MPEG-2 streams.The GPEG2 video codec supports several levels and profiles. Source formats supported range from Limited Definition (VCR quality) to full HDTV (720P or 1080P) - each with a range of 1 Mbit/s to 50 Mbit/s bitrates.
