abrMate is a freeware Windows application I wrote that has the ability to open Adobe Photoshop .abr brush preset files for previewing, organizing, or exporting brushes to .png's. I began writing abrMate because there didn't seem to be a full-featured free Windows application out there for opening and organizing brush files. Sometimes you don't want to load Adobe Photoshop just to manage your brushes and sometimes they can be hard to organize sometimes with thousands of brushes. abrMate provides the ability to convert brush files that may have been created in newer Photoshop CS versions such as CS5 into new brush files that can be opened in Adobe Photoshop 7 or newer. This can be very useful if you want to download brush sets online but they have been created in newer versions of Adobe Photoshop that you currently have. With abrMate, you can export either a single brush to a .png or all open brushes to .png's at once. This is very useful if Adobe Photoshop is not the only graphic design software you use. abrMate also provides the ability to export all open brushes to a thumbnail preview .png which is very useful for brush authors looking to provide preview graphics with their brushes.
